Ignore Error Messages When Summing

When using SUM, if the sum range contains error values the result will be an error. How should the formula be modified to skip error values?

=SUMIF (C3:C7,”<9.9E+307")
<9.9E+307
  • It means less than 9.9×10^307, i.e., an astronomical number.
  • In Excel, all numbers are considered smaller than error values.
=SUMIF(C3:C7,"<9.9E+307")
  • The formula adds C3:C7 if they are less than that astronomical number (i.e., nearly all numbers), thereby skipping error values.
