Power Query table transformation tips

To consolidate data you might use a PivotTable, but PivotTables mainly summarize numbers. If you need to consolidate text-only data, use Power Query — a relatively unknown but powerful new Excel tool.

♦Applicable to Office 2016 or later♦
  1. Select the data range
  2. Data → From Table/Range
  1. Select the Position column
  2. Transform → Pivot Column
  3. In Advanced Options: Don't aggregate
  1. Close & Load
  2. Done!
If the source file is updated, just right-click the consolidated table and select Refresh.
