Quick trick to alternate rows of data


If you need to insert a blank row after every row of data, inserting rows one by one is extremely inefficient — how can you do this quickly?

  1. First insert a helper column next to the data.
  2. In the helper column enter a sequence starting at 1; for example, if there are 10 rows, enter 1–10.
  3. Then, beneath cell 26, enter the 1–10 sequence.
  4. Select the original data and the helper column, then sort by the helper column in ascending order.
  5. Delete the helper column.
  6. Completed
