Why do the colors always change when I paste PowerPoint slides into another PPT file?

- Every PPT file includes a Theme, and each Theme contains four elements: Colors, Fonts, Effects, and Background Styles.
- If colors change when slides are pasted into another PPT file, it means those objects were using a specific Theme Colors set; when pasted into a different PPT file, the other file's Theme Colors are applied, causing the change.
- Save PPT A's color theme:\r\n\r\na. Design ⇒ Variants ⇒ Colors ⇒ Customize Colors\r\n\r\nb. On the right, select each theme color, rename it, then click Save
- Open PPT B and repeat step 1a. In Customize Colors you will find the saved theme colors; select and apply them.
- Completed
- After pasting, a Paste Options button appears at the bottom-right of the slide.
- Choose the second paste option: Keep Source Formatting (K)
- At this point the slide in PPT B will fully adopt PPT B's Theme, so the color theme will match — done.
Notes:Although this method is faster than Method 1, the Keep Source Formatting option pastes the entire theme — including all of PPT A's masters — which has the following disadvantages:
- Increases PPT B's file size
- Having too many masters can affect PPT B's layout setup, causing confusion and inconsistency
