Although text in the PPT is set to left-aligned, each line starts at a different position — how to fix this?

- There are actual spaces before the text — this commonly happens when copying numbers from Excel to PPT
- Inconsistent indentation in different cells (Indentation)
- Inconsistent internal cell margins (Internal Margin)
- If you find actual spaces before the text, you can simply delete the spaces one by one.
- But if many lines have the same issue, deleting them one by one will take a lot of time.
- We recommend copying the table into Word and using Word's Replace function to remove them at once:
- After copying the table into Word, you'll find many spaces before the numbers
- Press Ctrl + H. In Find and Replace, enter a space in 'Find what'; leave 'Replace with' empty
- Click Replace All, then copy it back into the PPT
- If there are no spaces before the text, the issue may be inconsistent cell indentation (Indentation)
- First, select the cells with the issue
- Click the small button to the right of Paragraph
- In the Paragraph window, if the Before text under Indentation is empty, it means the indents within the selected cells are inconsistent, so you only need to enter one value, e.g., 0.
- Also, inconsistent internal margins among cells can prevent text from aligning left.
- First, select the cells with the issue
- Right Click ⇒ Format Shape
- Shape Options ⇒ Size and Properties
- If the Left margin in the Text Box is empty, it means the selected cells' internal left margins are inconsistent, so you only need to enter one value, e.g., 0.1.
