Reasons Why PDFs Can't Be Saved

Have you ever used Acrobat to edit a PDF and then couldn't save it? Here we'll explain how to fix that issue.

It's simple: save the file as a PostScript, then use Acrobat to convert the PostScript back to PDF; you can then save. Note this flattens images and may reduce image quality.

  1. File > Export To > PostScript
  2. Open the PostScript file in Acrobat.
  3. Convert to PDF — done.
